And the twist some had feared is here. So he really has a pretty interesting point here, in my opinion. But what does Skoll want at all? Does he want the world to come to an end? Or does he simply wants to restore it somehow so that it will gain it's balance back? As I have said, he is kinda right but I think that he is missing a point or two. I also wonder if he maybe wanted Askr to be blocked so that the "line" is unguared, since he wanted the world to die. This is really interesting, since Skoll seems so different than Iki. At first you thought that Hati was the one who knew everything, who had the control over the situation. But now it turns out that Hati had not understand what Skoll did and what he knew all the time. Since Skoll is pretty straight here, I don't think that he is just saying that. I think that he really means it. It seems also reasonable, since the balance is lost, as the very first pages of this comic tells us. I am not sure if he is just desperate or if he really wants to world to end and Ragnarok to come. Since he and Askr went to fight the Dragonspirits. At least it seems so. But the other side could also have happend. What if Skoll and Askr went to the dragons to talk to them, to save and restore the balance? What if they wanted to try to convince them to do something to stop the world falling apart and all the other spirits from their extinction. This would support the theory of Skolls despair, the theory, I also share. I don't think that Skoll is an all bad villain, who wants to destroy the world with some kind of satellit-super-ion-canon-of-sunshinyness-power. But I am not sure why he acts like he acts. I mean even if he is desperate. He could at least try to let Hati help him and so cooperate with Hati, Hugin and Munin and all the other spirits, who would maybe help. Maybe together they could do something. Maybe he just needs some time to realise that, now that he is finally awake again. But as it seems, Hatis time has run out, at least for this night...since the sun is rising... This, the biggest plot-twist so far, has the most interesting potential for speculations, theories and things to think about. And therefor you give the comic a very great aspect to me. I really love to think about things like that and try to solve the stuff hidden in the mist. Absolutely awesome twist, great character interaction and brilliant revelation of Skoll's character and thoughts.
Ooh, I love how this plays with our expectations. We expect the dark wolf to be the evil, sinister character and at first that's what we believe. But when Skoll has this turn - which is so unlike his previous reincarnation, I'm starting to think maybe he's not as heroic and innocent as we first thought... o:
This is very intense. The way everything flipped completely, how Sköll is nothing like the naďve Ikki. The way his spirit self is so alien to the morals we're accustomed to is exquisite, since it gives a much greater depth than the archetypical legal good/chaotic evil stereotype we've grown accustomed to. Not to mention you girls have improved so much with your art, this latest pages have been amazing, in shading, backgrounds and morphology. Your comic is truly inspiring and I can't wait till you market it to get a copy.
